2020 Pumpkin Patch at Crowe's Nest Farm

Updated: Mar 12, 2021

Welcome Y'all!

If you have been following my blog and or IG account for a while, you must be knowing how passionate I am about raising my kiddo in nature, especially in green spaces as they immensely impact their mental wellness. Living in a city, we miss out so much on the interaction with animals in proximity. And, that why we visit a farm between our State Parks and other outdoor trips. Crowe's Nest Farm and Animal Life Center started as one of those visits that would take us closer to animals and the farm life. What came as a surprise was a few interesting activities that the farm offers.

East of Austin in a neighborhood of Manor is Crowe's Nest Farm a Non-Profit organization that shelters and fosters injured, orphaned, abused and neglected animals aka Animal Life Center.

We stopped by when Pumpkin Patch was in season and just like how it looks in the picture below, it was a cute little patch and allowed plenty, plenty of space to social distance and enjoy the photo sessions safely.

From Bobcats, owls to of course Longhorns, there were plenty of opportunity to meet the animals / birds and feed them as well. The fun aspect is the hayrides to Ostrich and bison pastures. I wasn't expecting but we got to take a look at an Ostrich egg and even touch it, welp that scored brownie points with the kiddo.

The next one that was super educational was a demonstration of how the milking machines work and the demonstrations were scheduled in intervals so that it's uber easy to include it in your visit no matter what time of the day you stop by. I appreciated this aspect of learning in addition to self-exploring the farm.

There were few games that we used as fillers in between visits to various activities in the farm. Five stars to the handwash and restrooms for the cleanliness. From birthday parties to group tours, there are options available to experience the farm and have fun at the same time. They have even come up with virtual tours currently plus opportunities to volunteer. Do stop by and #supportlocal.

Address: 10300 Taylor Ln, Manor, TX 78653
