Welcome Y'all!

Hope you have been staying well and if you live in Central Texas, pop of wildflowers may have caught your eye in the past few days. The snowdemic aka artic-blast from Uri reminded me of life skills that I learnt in girl scouts and I look forward to this Spring more than any year. After all a little sunshine (well, you know what's a little sunshine in Texas feels like) and bright colored flowers could brighten up any day. So, in the theme of #springforward, I plan to explore nearby farms and wildflower fields in the next few weeks. Continue to follow my Instagram handle and my webpage.

I have been seeing a lot of posts about Tulip fields in North Texas; however the commute was close to 4 hours one-way and I was unsure if that's something that I could commit to. Digging deeper on the web, I found a nearby Tulip field at Sweet Berry Farms at Marble Falls, TX. They are closed on Wednesdays and hence followed the suggested Thursday to visit them. After about an hour and a half drive with Hill Country views, the field was just the perfect size and beautiful. The staff were super friendly and warm. Baskets are offered for picking the flowers and they offer wrapping too. A (my kiddo) even got to choose a wrapper of her choice. It may sound silly but small things make a huge impact in a kid's world and I appreciate such thoughtfulness from vendors and businesses.

After a pretty lengthy session of discovering the tulips, picking some and posing for a few pictures we headed to meet our friendly goats. The seniors were more eager to grab the feed from us than the kiddos. The goats were super friendly and loved the attention, we couldn't their cuteness and sat down to interact with them for a little longer. On the other side the strawberries were getting ready for harvest in April and signs of pumpkin patches from the fall could be seen around as well.

Such a neat place to stop by and spend a few hours at no cost or experience the farm for less than $20 for two people and get to take back tulips for your vase. The tulip season does not last long and be sure to mark your calendars and check out the farms' website for the latest on the blooms so that you get your perfect bud that lasts longer in the vase or click your memory when the field is in full bloom.

Prices marked as per the time of visit:

  • Entry into tulip garden $5/person free for children under 2yrs

  • Tulips at $2 per stem

  • Goat feed at $0.25/ cup

  • You can interact with the goats and pet them at no cost. You pay only if you want to buy feed or enter thee tulip garden.

Note: Pets are not allowed!
