A day's worth of fun at Sweet Eats Fruits Farm

Updated: May 21, 2021

Welcome Y'all!

This Labor Day long weekend, the biggest challenge was to decide where to head. Almost every State Park was reserved and local City Parks had parking backed up.

We had previously visited Lazy Ass Farms and wanted to explore and support other local farms. Sweet Eats Fruit Farm is located east of Georgetown, Texas by the banks of San Gabriel River. As their tagline rightly says it, they offer more than a regular local farm would. A well thought out business model that allows sustainability round the year. They also focus on ethical practices in raising crops.

As a standard attraction, the farm includes several activities like hay maze (ask for your golden coins to use in the vending machine for a chance to win goodies), treasure mountain, obstacle course, swing line, tire piles, slides, corn holes, a booth for face painting (this was not available during our visit as social distancing during the pandemic was prioritized) and a petting zoo that offers pony rides. Seriously, the pony ride brought so much joy and glee on A's face.

Aside from these, seasonal fruits can be picked and are offered in a very reasonable cost. Depending on the time of year you decide to go, do checkout their website or social media platform for the latest events as they offer live music, fall pumpkin festival, sunflower festival, egg hunts and Santa visits with his reindeer during Christmas season.

Food trucks, snow cones and masks are available for sale (brownie points for the mask! This was super helpful). The size of the farm allowed for plenty of social distancing; however there were high touchpoints and we just took several wipes and made sure the little one is cleaned up after the playtime.

Reservations for private events and field trips are done as well. If you have a super active toddler like I do or one who is not, this is a one stop shop for educational activities, physical activities that teach life skills (how relevant is it during these days of pandemic!!) or just to walk around, explore the river, pick some fruits, shop locally packaged commodities and call it a fine day.

Address: 14400 E State Hwy 29, Georgetown, TX 78626

Check them out here: https://www.sweeteats.com/

Expect to spend: Anywhere between 2 hours to an entire day

Entry Fee: $12/ person and no admission fee for children 2 and below. They run seasonal sales, do checkout their website and or social media platform for discount codes.

Nearby Attractions: Plenty of cotton fields that were not harvested during Labor day weekend and a pretty bridge and creek underneath that was nothing but gorgeous during sunset.

Cheers,

JBawse :)
